EU PPWR August 2026 — Export Implications for Malaysian F&B

What PPWR actually mandates

The EU Packaging and Packaging Waste Regulation requires all packaging placed on the EU market to be recyclable at scale by 2030, with stricter sub-targets starting August 2026 — minimum recycled content for plastics, mandatory composting certification for fibre-based packaging, and bans on certain single-use formats. Importers must provide a Declaration of Conformity (DoC). No DoC = goods detained at customs.

Why kraft is in a strong position
